Norwich University was founded in 1819, by Alden Partridge, as an Engineering and Military Academy. It was the nation's first private engineering school, first private military academy, and the first ROTC outpost. Tradition runs deep at Norwich, and the alumni are a veritable who's who in the business and military history of this country. One of Norwich's greatest legacies is its production of successful alumni, alumni that have richly rewarded the school with one of the largest endowments in the country for a school its size.
When you become part of Norwich University, you become part of something very old, very deep, and very proud.
Norwich is steeped in a dynamic mixture of tradition and innovation.
